The second largest island in Europe, Iceland is located south of the Arctic Circle. The island has no effect reptiles or amphibians. The number of species of insects found on the island is also relatively lower in count compared to other parts of the world.


The most successful and established industry of the island is its fishing industry. It represents about 8% of total workforce in the country and provides a staggering 40% of export earnings.
