Borneo Island

Borneo is the third largest island in the world, covering an area of about 287000 square kilometres. The island is divided into three political regimes. The Kalimantan is a party under the governance of Indonesia, Sabah and Sarawak are part of Malaysia, the Sultanate of Brunei have an interest on the remaining portion, although it is the smallest.

The island is surrounded by sea on all sides. The north and north west is bordered by the South China Sea, the Sulu Sea surrounding the north, the Celebes Sea and the Strait of Makassar are in the east and the Sea of Java and Karimata Strait south.
